Maryville University's Center for Access and Achievement (CA2) partners with high-need school districts and nonprofits to help prepare students with the skills and abilities they need to succeed in STEM fields in college and the careers of the future. Our summer STEM programs include hands-on, creative experiences with cutting-edge technologies. Our courses are taught by highly qualified faculty with advanced education including gifted early childhood, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) certification.
This summer we will offer the following programs:
Become a STEM Solver while gaining college experience! Using new LEGO SPIKE Prime, you could create the next esports game, viral videos/cartoons, or amusement parks. Have fun mastering engineering & publishing skills in Teen Tech.
DigiGirlz High Tech Camp is a free once-day class for girls entering grades 8-12 to explore careers in technology. Pre-registration is required.
Participants will meet successful women from the technology industry to learn about their career experiences and inspirations. Presented by Microsoft and the Saint Louis Science Center, DigiGirlz High Tech Camp includes tech demonstrations, networking and hands-on workshops. Girls will also have the chance to win amazing prizes.
Visit the James S. McDonnell Planetarium in Forest Park and see a star show to experience the largest artificial sky in the Western Hemisphere. Star shows are lead LIVE by one of the Planetarium's educators, creating a new and tailored experience for every audience.
At this free art program for ages 3-6 the focus is on the process of making art rather than the finished product. Dress to get messy!
Little Red Hen Play Dates are a wonderful way for children ages 0-6 and their caregivers to experience the magic of Waldorf Early Childhood Education. You and your child will bake bread — a weekly occurrence in the Waldorf School's Early Childhood Program — listen to stories; join in a circle time filled with songs, rhymes, and movement; and explore the outdoors in our mini meadow.
Bring your babies and toddlers to this free story time at the Missouri History Museum.
