For the fifth year, the St. Charles Convention Center is opening its doors for a much-anticipated free event for kids. The 5th Annual Kids Block Party and Touch-a-Truck offers kids the opportunity to have tons of hands-on fun for free on Saturday, Aug. 13.
The event, which is open to the public, encourages healthy, active and safe lifestyles for kids ages 3-10. Kids can bounce to their heart's content on inflatable bounce houses, navigate an obstacle course and soar down a giant slide.
And for kids with a fascination for big trucks, the Touch-A-Truck activities give them the opportunity to get up close to a fire truck, ambulance, a police motorcycle, the "Big Brother" monster truck, an Army cargo truck, police car, tow truck and the Kids Klub Gymbus.
Additional activities will be provided by St. Louis Children's Hospital, St. Charles Parks and Recreation Department, Saint Louis Science Center, River City Rascals and others.
The free event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Charles Convention Center. For more information visit www.stcharlesconventioncenter.com
